In Pursuit of the Truth

The School of The New York Times translates the knowledge and practices of The New York Times into educational experiences for diverse learners. Classes encourage analytical curiosity while helping students sharpen important life skills and values — equity, critical thinking, information literacy, the pursuit of truth

I designed a modular system here that could be reconfigured from asset to asset, scaled up to highlight a given offering or zoomed out to show a wealth of possibilities. Geometrical building-block like forms frame a range of imagery, from portraits of journalists to photos of the Times HQ where classes are held, to pictures of the classes and subjects that the school offers. This was another great chance to use our T logotype too.

Times Journeys

Times Journeys

Times Journeys is a travel program run by The New York Times, operating a selection of small group tours and specialist cruises to more than 35 countries. Each tour is accompanied by either a Times journalist or expert chosen specifically for that tour. Each departure focuses on a specific theme, be it the region's politics, history, arts and culture, food and wine or science and nature, so that each guest returns home with something even greater than memories, understanding.

NYT Cooking App

With The Times Cooking app, subscribers can search thousands of New York Times recipes and organize favorites you can cook for anyone, anytime. Full page print ads and digital versions use both existing NYT Cooking imagery and new photoshoots I directed, featuring beloved Times cooking luminaries Sam Sifton and Melissa Clark.


NYT Cooking Mealkits

Meal Kits, a new venture from the Times, makes it easy to master a range of popular dishes from NYT Cooking. Each Meal Kit offers everything you need to prepare the perfect meal, from premium ingredients shipped straight to your door to preparation tips and instructions.

NYT VR

Good Form

New York Times VR presents films and stories in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and 3D. A stroke of luck: the diagonal thrust of the Javelin Thrower in contrast to the upright, blocky, rectilinear type treatment and across the rigid formats of the digital and print deliverables made this set feel dynamic from a formal perspective. Half the battle, really.
